General conference.......BOM testimony

I ask that my testimony of the Book of Mormon and all that it implies, given today under my own oath and office, be recorded by men on earth and angels in heaven. I hope I have a few years left in my “last days,” but whether I do or do not, I want it absolutely clear when I stand before the judgment bar of God that I declared to the world, in the most straightforward language I could summon, that the Book of Mormon is true, that it came forth the way Joseph
said it came forth and was given to bring happiness and hope to the faithful in the travail of the latter days.  My witness echoes that of Nephi, who wrote part of the book in his last days.

happiness

Happiness is the object and design of our existence; and will be the end thereof, if we pursue the path that leads to it; and this path is virtue, uprightness, faithfulness, holiness, and keeping all the commandments of God.

On a Monday Morning,...

Its been two weeks, since I was called to be a seminary teacher, And I have to say, that these have been two wonderful weeks. I have enjoyed being part of something so important. As a Young Woman i never really got a chance to attend a "real" seminary class. We had teachers, but unfortunately for one reason or another we nover got to actually have class. I remember meeting and talking but in reality we never did study any of the books. Sure I have read some scriptures here and there, but I never really sat down and studied the scriptures. I have been teaching Sunday school now for the youth for about a year, and I love it. I wish there were so much that I could do to help each and everyone of them. I know and understand the trials that they are going thru....But I doubt they belive me when I tell them. I was there and went thru so many trials when I was their age, as I am sure all of the youth of the church go thru. It seems so much harder for us just because we live in a culture that seems to frown at certain gosple teachings. I remember thinking that it would have been so much easier if I took the easy way out. Thinking that I had so much that I wanted to experience, and do. But as I have grown up and learned so many things from this wonderful gospel I know that I didn't miss out on anything. I rather have the things I have now and enjoy the many blessings that I have recieved than be full of quetsions, doubts and problems. I can honestly say that if it weren't for Heavenly father, and the scriptures I wouls truly be lost.....Just wish that my students would realize how much easier life would be if they only took the time to appreciate all of the blessings they have, and understood that He is there always, and we need to listen to what he tells us!

LOng Weekend!

Ok,...well Saturday was kind of boring! We were suppossed to go with Mel's Nephew to NY. But as it turns out his nephew had invited his friends,.....Hence there was no room for everyone in the car. Being that his nephew was going for somthing related to school I figured I would stay home with the kids! I thought I might meet my mom and Kathy @ the mall and hang out for a while. But that didn't really work out. When I realized it was already about 2 p.m. So the kids and I had a late lunch after talking a walk to kathy's job for sum bread and Milk! Turns out Mel didn't come back until about 5 and then he told me he didn't go to NY!!!!! So he basically hung out @ his mom's house all day, while we sat @ home Bored to death! Then he tells me he took my truck because he needed the room....which means he wasted my gas! and then tells me he locked the keys to HIS car in HIs car! lol....so he has no way of getting into his car now. As for the spare key, I have no I dea where it is! We ended up going to Target for a while just to walk aroung and get some fresh air. SO that pretty much my wonderful day! Sunday was much better, we had a great sacrament meeting! Atleast I thought it was nice. As for clas I thought it went pretty good. Saw some New(well not really) faces. Oh yea,....Mel finally was able to open the car and get his keys out! IDK how but he did! oh well tomorrow is back to waking up @ 5 am and having seminary! and its off to running around with da kids AGAIN! lol I love MY life!

Come Thou Fount of every blessing

Never seen it before,...Hope you guys like! I did!

Sexual Purity

Our Heavenly Father has counseled that sexual intimacy should be reserved for his children within the bonds of marriage. The physical relationship between a husband and a wife can be beautiful and sacred. It is ordained of God for the procreation of children and for the expression of love within a marriage: "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh" (Genesis 2:24).

Because sexual intimacy is so sacred, the Lord requires self-control and purity before marriage as well as full fidelity after marriage. In dating, treat your date with respect, and expect your date to show that same respect to you. Never treat your date as an object to be used for your own lustful desires or ego. Improper physical contact can cause a loss of self-control. Always stay in control of yourself and your physical feelings.

The Lord specifically forbids certain behaviors, including all sexual relations before marriage, petting, sex perversion (such as homosexuality, rape, and incest), masturbation, or preoccupation with sex in thought, speech, or action (see A Parent's Guide, pp. 36–39).

Homosexual and lesbian activities are sinful and an abomination to the Lord (see Romans 1:26–27, 31). Unnatural affections including those toward persons of the same gender are counter to God's eternal plan for his children. You are responsible to make right choices. Whether directed toward those of the same or opposite gender, lustful feelings and desires may lead to more serious sins. All Latter-day Saints must learn to control and discipline themselves.

Victims of rape, incest, or other sexual abuse are not guilty of sin. If you have been a victim of any of these terrible crimes, be assured that God still loves you! Your bishop can also help and guide you through the mental and emotional healing process if you seek his advice and counsel.

Scripture reinforces the foregoing teachings and standards: "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. . . . Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God" (Galatians 5:16–17, 19–21).

Dress and Appearance

Dress and Appearance

Servants of God have always counseled his children to dress modestly to show respect for him and for themselves. Because the way you dress sends messages about yourself to others and often influences the way you and others act, you should dress in such a way as to bring out the best in yourself and those around you. However, if you wear an immodest bathing suit because it's "the style," it sends a message that you are using your body to get attention and approval, and that modesty is not important.
Immodest clothing includes short shorts, tight pants, and other revealing attire. Young women should refrain from wearing off-the-shoulder, low-cut, or revealing clothes. Young men should similarly maintain modesty in their dress. All should avoid tight fitting or revealing clothes and extremes in clothing and appearance.

As Latter-day Saint youth, you can also show respect for the Lord and yourselves by dressing appropriately for Church meetings and activities, whether on Sunday or during the week. If you are not sure what's appropriate, ask for guidelines from your parents, advisers, and bishop.

HOme Work due today!!!
